Recipe books

As a child, I was surrounded with numerous #books. Mamma had instilled #reading before bed time in us quite early. So, we were surrounded with all kinds of reading material. And now when I think of it, I was always very interested in #culinarybooks my mother had in her over head book cabinet. As a matter of fact, I was also in love with her JC Penny catalogue - particularly the #kitchen and #kitchenutensils section. I would go through it for fun. Or when I wanted to procrastinate while doing homework.

Here are some of the many culinary books that I saw around the house while I was growing up. These dog eared, food spilled books hold so much nostalgia of our kitchen and the aromas I grew up with. Since Mamma is an architect, she designed our living room and kitchen in such a way that there was plenty of natural light coming in - She had lined the kitchen window with pretty crochet and lace curtains. That kitchen was literally the absolute most perfect ambiance for #foodphotography.

There was a set of 4 colourful books by the name of quick & easy - this set came with a VHS also

An absolutely gorgeous, extensively explained book by the name of Look & Cook - fruit desserts

And another one with a slightly modern take on Indian cooking

I'll post in more detail about each of these with some funny stories in the next few posts, till then have fun!
