Falsa sharbat - A conversation with Shireen Ahad

So, a few days ago as I was scrolling social media I came across a very heartfelt story shared by my youngest aunt (choti phuppo). A story of her childhood, and mine, and many of us cousins, aunts, uncles etc. A story that was a certain lifestyle. A certain routine. It made me nostalgic in a very happy - beautiful way. It was about how she would go up to her nani's house (maternal grandmother), or as the world knows her - Ammi jan's place only to drink the most thirst quenching drink ever. Falsay ka sherbet. If I were to pin point, I think she was the person who practically introduced this seasonal drink into our lives. As I sit here to type this post, I can still feel her tiles under my feet, and taste the sherbet on my tongue.

So, on Sunday - I couldn't help but call choti phuppo to recall some memories together. Here is a snippet of our conversation. And if you'd like the recipe to the drink, click here for my post from last year - an ode to Ammi jan. And if you'd like to try it, order from spices
